In 2009, the Bowling Green State University softball program celebrated its 30th season since the program’s inception in 1979. For 29 seasons the Falcons called the BGSU Softball Field home although its location has not changed; the field will now honor two of BGSU’s most ardent fans. On Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, Dr. Lee Meserve and his wife Marge were honored at the field formerly known as the BGSU Softball Field. As of 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Oct. 3, 2008, the field home to the Falcon softball team is now called Meserve Softball Field. Meserve Field, one of the MAC's best facilities, has dimenstions of 200 feet down the left and right field lines, and 220 feet to dead center.
